Improving livestock production, sustainability and climate resilience

We are an agricultural consultancy dedicated to helping farmers, organisations and communities build farms that are productive today and still productive for the next generation.

Sierra Leone Training Farm Establishment Climate Change Mitigation Consultancy

Who we are

A practical consultancy for people who work the land

Stanley Livestock Training, Climate Change Mitigation & Consultancy Firm is a leading agricultural consultancy dedicated to improving livestock production, environmental sustainability and climate resilience.

We provide professional training, technical support, farm establishment services and consultancy to individuals, organisations, NGOs, schools, youth groups and commercial farmers. Our goal is to create profitable farms while protecting the environment for future generations.

Our work sits where three things meet: the animal, the land and the household income. A poultry house only succeeds if the birds are healthy, the feed is affordable and the owner can sell at the right time. A tree planting programme only succeeds if the community wants those trees to survive. We plan for all of it together, because looking at only one part is how farms fail.

What makes our approach different

  • We start where you are. Recommendations are built around the land, water, labour and money you actually have — not an ideal farm in a textbook.
  • We teach while we work. Every setup, survey or assessment includes training, so the skill stays on the farm after we leave.
  • We design for the climate we have now. Dry spells, heavy rain and unpredictable seasons are planned for, not treated as bad luck.
  • We value waste. Manure, crop residues, market waste and kitchen waste are raw materials for feed, compost and energy.
  • We stay in touch. Follow-up advice and technical support are part of the service, not an extra.

Purpose

Our mission and our vision

Two statements that decide what work we accept and how we carry it out.

Our Mission

To provide innovative agricultural training, livestock development, climate-smart farming solutions and environmental conservation services that improve livelihoods, increase food security and promote sustainable economic growth.

Our Vision

To become Sierra Leone's leading agricultural training and consultancy firm, recognised for transforming agriculture through innovation, environmental stewardship and sustainable farming practices.

Core Values

Eight values we are held to

These are not slogans. They are the standard clients, communities and partners can use to judge our work.

Integrity

Honest advice, even when it means recommending less work than was requested.

Professionalism

Written plans, clear quotations, punctual visits and properly documented training.

Innovation

Bringing useful new methods — maggot protein, mushroom rooms, valley swamp irrigation — into everyday farming.

Sustainability

Solutions that keep working after the project ends, without exhausting soil or water.

Excellence

Doing the small things properly: clean water lines, correct spacing, records that balance.

Accountability

We report what was done, what it cost and what still needs attention — plainly.

Community Development

Training youth groups, women's groups and schools so skills spread beyond one farm.

Environmental Responsibility

Every plan is measured against its effect on soil, water, trees and wildlife.

Who we work with

From a single household plot to a national programme

We adapt the same technical standards to very different clients. A young person starting with twenty layers needs a different plan from an NGO rolling out a livelihood programme across several communities — but both deserve proper planning, honest costing and training that sticks.

  • Individuals and households starting a first small livestock or mushroom enterprise.
  • Commercial farmers expanding poultry, piggery, fish or feed production.
  • Youth and women's groups building group enterprises and shared facilities.
  • Schools and colleges developing practical agriculture teaching and school farms.
  • NGOs and development organisations needing technical design, training delivery and monitoring support.
  • Cooperatives and farmer-based organisations improving production and market readiness.

How we work

A simple, transparent process

You always know what happens next, what it costs and who is responsible.

  1. Listen and understand

We discuss your goals, land, animals, water, labour and budget. The first conversation about your needs is free of charge.

  2. Assess the site or farm

A visit to look at soil, drainage, water, housing, existing animals and market access — and to identify what waste streams are available.

  3. Plan and quote in writing

You receive a clear plan with activities, quantities, timeframes and a written quotation before any work begins.

  4. Implement and train

We build, install or demonstrate alongside your people, so the work is understood and repeatable, not just delivered.

  5. Monitor and support

Follow-up visits, monitoring and evaluation, and technical advice by phone when problems appear.

Why choose us

Because the farm has to work after the training ends

Anyone can deliver a workshop. Our measure of success is whether the birds grow, the pond holds water, the mushroom bags fruit and the household earns more at the end of the season.

  • Experienced professionals who work with livestock and land daily
