Smart Farming, Turning Waste Into Wealth

Eight service areas, one goal: farming that pays and lasts

Stanley Livestock Training, Climate Change Mitigation & Consultancy Firm works with households, commercial farmers, youth groups, women's groups, schools and development organisations across Sierra Leone. We combine training, farm setup and technical advice so that each client leaves with skills they can use immediately and a farm that is planned properly from the start.

Our approach turns waste into wealth. Crop residues, manure and organic waste become feed for Black Soldier Fly larvae, compost for soils and substrate for mushrooms – closing the loop on the farm while reducing pressure on the environment. Alongside this we strengthen livestock production, aquaculture and irrigation, and support climate change mitigation and environmental restoration.

  • Training designed around the season, the site and the level of the group
  • Farm and site assessment before any investment is made
  • Practical demonstrations that participants repeat with their own hands
  • Climate-smart solutions that protect soil, water and biodiversity
  • Follow-up technical support after training or setup is complete

Livestock Training

Hands-on training that helps you keep healthy animals and run the farm as a business.

We train individuals, households and groups in the day-to-day management of poultry, pigs and fish, from housing and feeding through to record keeping and marketing. Sessions are practical and participatory, and they are delivered on your own farm or at a suitable venue so that participants work with the same conditions they face at home.

  • Poultry farming
  • Piggery management
  • Fish farming
  • Livestock nutrition
  • Farm business management

02

Black Soldier Fly (BSF) Production

Turn farm and household waste into protein-rich feed for your animals.

Black Soldier Fly production is at the heart of our “Turning Waste Into Wealth” approach. We show you how to rear BSF maggots on organic waste, harvest and process them, and use them as a home-produced protein source in poultry, pig and fish diets. The result is lower feed costs and less waste leaving the farm.

Mushroom Farming

A small space, a steady income – mushroom growing taught from substrate to harvest.

Mushroom farming suits households and young farmers who have limited land but want a regular source of income. We cover the whole cycle: preparing substrate from available farm materials, filling and sterilising bags, maintaining the growing room, harvesting carefully and getting the produce to market.

  • Mushroom production training
  • Commercial mushroom farming
  • Spawn production guidance

Poultry Farm Setup

From an empty plot to a working poultry house, planned and equipped with you.

We help you plan and establish a poultry enterprise that matches your space, budget and market. That includes siting and constructing the house, advising on feeders, drinkers, brooding and ventilation equipment, sourcing day-old chicks, and setting up the routine that keeps broilers and layers productive and healthy.

Fish Farming

Ponds built correctly from the start, then managed for steady harvests.

Fish farming rewards good planning. We assess your land and water supply, advise on pond type and construction, and guide you through stocking, feeding, water management and harvesting. Where it makes sense, we also show you how to produce part of the feed on the farm using BSF and other local ingredients.

Climate Change & Environmental Services

Farming that protects the land it depends on – nurture nature, don't torture it.

We support communities, schools and organisations with practical climate change mitigation and environmental restoration work. Activities are planned around the site and the season, and always linked to livelihoods, so that protecting trees, soil and water also supports the farm and the family income.

Integrated Valley Swamp Development

Making inland valley swamps work harder through simple, reliable irrigation.

Inland valley swamps offer reliable moisture, but they need to be developed carefully. We help plan water control and irrigation systems, layout the plots, and advise on cropping practices that suit the valley – supporting food security for the household and surplus for the market.

How we work

A simple five-step process

Every client starts with a conversation and ends with support that continues after the training or setup is finished.

  1. Initial enquiry & free discussion

Tell us about your farm, group or project by phone, WhatsApp or email. We listen, ask questions and explain honestly what we can offer.

  2. Farm or site assessment

Where needed, we visit the site to look at the land, water, housing, animals and available materials before recommending anything.

  3. Tailored proposal & plan

You receive a plan that fits your goals and resources, setting out the activities, the sequence and what we will need from you.

  4. Training, setup and implementation

We deliver the practical sessions, construct or install what is needed, and work alongside your people until the routine is in place.

  5. Follow-up technical support

We stay in contact to answer questions, check progress and help you correct problems early, so the investment keeps paying off.

Nationwide service. Farm visits and assessments can be arranged anywhere in Sierra Leone. Contact us on +232 76 648 996 (call or WhatsApp) or at hassansb2018@gmail.com to arrange a visit.
